Restore a photo without leaving your home…

The Family Time Machine now has a way that you can restore a photo via the internet that allows you to send us a photo to be restored and pay for it online while getting a digital copy back that you can print out and frame.  Here is how it works:

1. Scan the photo that you want restored.  If you have a scanner, it is highly recommended that you set the resolution of the scanner to 300 dpi (most scanners have a default resolution is 200 dpi).  300 dpi is the standard resolution for printed materials.  When you first scan in the photo, you should see a Options or Preferences box which will open up a way for you to change the resolution.

2. Save the photo as a .jpeg.  If you can’t save it to a .jpg file, contact us and we will see if we can convert it for you.

Once you are done with that part of the process, the rest is easy!

1. Go to http://www.familytimemachine.com/restore.php

2. Click on the “Start the process now” link.

3. Follow the instructions.  Make sure you tell us EXACTLY what you want us to do with the photo (whether it is remove scratches, change the contrast so the image pops out at you more, remove stains…etc.)

4. Fill out the form and hit “Send”.

5. Within 1-2 business days, you will get an email from us with a range of how much the restoration will cost – pursuant to your desires.  If you approve of the cost, we will restore the photo, then send you a watermarked copy for you to approve.

6. Once you approve the copy, we will send you through our online payment center.  All forms of credit cards are accepted including PayPal.

7. Once we have recieved payment, we will send you a digital version of the fill size, full resolution photo or we will provide you with a link to the photo that you can use to download it off of our servers.

That’s it!  All you have to do is print out the photo and frame it yourself.  For best options, we recommend taking it to a professional printer – especially if it will hang on a wall in your home.
